We’re pleased to announce the winner of our national prize draw for afternoon tea for two at a Macdonald Hotel. Congratulations go to Juliet Kitson.
Juliet, who was entered into the prize draw after completing our nationwide survey, won a special Afternoon Tea for two at a Macdonald Hotel. Her name was picked out at random. The survey itself was designed to find out more about people’s moving habits and, in particular, their marital status and its influence on their buying decisions. The results revealed, for example, that 57% of people own a home before they are married and nearly half of those surveyed think that finding a home to raise a family or that you can make your own is important.
Juliet commented:
“Finding out I was the winner of the afternoon tea was wonderful. My husband Kevin and I had just booked to go to Edinburgh for a caravan holiday and I was able to book the afternoon tea for the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel while we were there. It was absolutely fabulous. The day in question was really wet and miserable so having the tea to look forward to completely made our day. The ambience was lovely, the staff were friendly and attentive – nothing was too much trouble – and the food was really delicious. When we left, the restaurant manager came over and shook our hands, congratulated us and wished us a good day. We certainly had a special one and we are both very grateful we were the winners.
‘I find the results of the survey conducted by Your Move really interesting and would agree with the statements about buying a marital home. Kevin and I both owned our own property before we married but I sold mine, and briefly moved in with him, before he sold his and we bought our first home together which we have made our own. We are now thinking of moving again, although we have been very happy in our present home and have great neighbours. If we do move again, we’ll definitely consider using Your Move for our house valuation.’
