Recently Your Move’s Lettings Manager in Swinton, Joshua Simms (along with a friend), climbed Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales – to raise funds for Crohns and Colitis UK.
Joshua commented: “I suffer from Crohn’s Disease – as does my brother – and rely heavily on drugs and regular check-ups to manage the condition. As a result I wanted to raise money for the charity that supports sufferers of this disease to help them in developing new drugs and hopefully curing it in the future.
The climb and route covered 9 miles in total over rough terrain and, whilst we have climbed the much smaller Ben Lomond mountain in Scotland, we had to do a lot of cycling to build up our fitness over the weeks leading up to our challenge.
As a result of our efforts – and the support of friends and family – we raised £450 for the charity which we are really pleased about – as is the charity that works to make life better for the 300,000 people in the UK with Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and other forms of IBD.”
Well done Joshua.
