Huge congratulations go to our Havant Branch Manager Sandra Bryant who last month celebrated 25 years at Your Move. In light of this great milestone, we put some questions to Sandra about her experience over the last two decades. . .
Sandra please elaborate on how it all started…
‘I started at the Waterlooville Branch in the good old days for General Accident Property Services as a Sales Negotiator – using what was then called applicant boxes, viewing books and offer books. During this time we were able to go out take a property on and take a viewer round on the same day. The ‘Property Guide’ was where we advertised and we worked late on a Thursday night (the day the Property Guide came out) to take calls from the buyers book viewings.
What has changed since you joined Your Move?
‘The first big change was with our internal computer systems … out went what we called the applicant boxes!!!
Then all the new and welcome regulations changed the way we are able to instruct properties e.g a property now has to have an EPC when selling it. Having to change to the modern professional method of estate agency is challenging and rewarding at the same time – I am learning every day new ways to do things which benefit our customers (and all at my age of 55!)’.
What is the best thing about working for Your Move?
‘What I love about working for Your Move is the support and training we are given when new systems, procedures and legislative changes occur. My Area Director has worked his way up through the job roles so is very supportive and understands fully the market we work in’.
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
‘Highlights have been MANY! First when I was made Sales Team Leader (old word for Manager) – then Manager.
In 2002 I was transferred to the Havant Branch and have not looked back. I am one of the lucky managers I run the Lettings alongside Residential Sales. In short I am Manager of the whole branch. I (well my office) was also re-fitted in August 2016, making it a wonderful environment for our customers and staff alike’.
With thanks and congratulations again to Sandra Bryant!
