After weeks and weeks of intense training Your Move’s Finance Director Paul Hardy, along with Your Move’s Managing Director Jon Cooke, will be heading out on a mammoth cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats an amazing 975 miles. They hope to complete the challenge in just nine days.
The cycle ride will see Paul, Jon and three of Paul’s close friends attempt to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research UK – a charity not only close to Paul and Jon’s hearts but also to those of many within Your Move who have sadly lost friends, colleagues and loved ones to cancer.
The aim will be to cycle approximately 100 miles each day to ultimately meet the teams’ sponsorship target of raising £10,000 for the charity – and, as Paul explains, they have been immensely grateful for the support already offered and, as the cycle gets underway, look forward to ongoing encouragement along the route.
Paul commented:
“Not long to go now before we start our epic bike ride and I think we are just about ready.
“A few people have been asking what the route is that we are taking so we thought we’d provide the information here. This details the start and end locations for each day and some planned stopping points for refreshments each morning and afternoon. We can’t guarantee those will be the actual stops as this will be dictated by bike problems, time and energy! But it’s a rough guide.
“I set off on this planned fundraising with a target of raising £10,000 for Cancer Research – a cause close to my heart – and with gift aid we will already have achieved that which has been a very humbling achievement. A huge thank you to all those who have sponsored us so far – we are extremely grateful.”
